3. General Rules for Handling Magazines

  • do not store magazines with balls
  • do not pass magazines between fighters without testing
  • label magazines for specific drives
  • regularly clean magazines from dirt and sand
  • use reinforced springs for high rate of fire drives

4. Workshop Checklist

Diagnosis of Ball Feeding Issues (AEG)

Use strictly in order


Stage 1. Quick Check (without disassembly)

  • replace the magazine with a known working one
  • check the magazine retention in the well
  • check if the issue is resolved

If the issue is resolved — the magazine is faulty


Stage 2. Magazine

  • disassemble the magazine
  • clean from dirt and dust
  • check the condition of the spring
  • inspect the feed neck
  • check the follower movement

Stage 3. Hop-Up Unit

  • remove the hop-up chamber
  • inspect the rubber:
    • wear
    • inward bending
    • cracks
  • check the hardness of the rubber against the weight of the balls
  • check the retention of the chamber in the receiver

Stage 4. Alignment

  • install the gearbox without the spring
  • shine a light through the hop-up chamber
  • check the centering of the nozzle
  • eliminate slack in the gearbox (gaskets, shimming)

Stage 5. Nozzle

  • measure the length of the nozzle
  • compare with the model standard
  • check for curvature
  • check free movement
  • check compatibility with the cylinder head

Stage 6. Gearbox

  • check the tappet plate:
    • cracks
    • wear
    • thickness
  • check the tappet plate spring
  • inspect the cylinder head
  • exclude misalignments

Stage 7. Final Test

  • manual feeding check
  • single fire
  • burst fire
  • control FPS
